Growth & healing through authenticity & connection

Alexandra Sera (C.C.C.)

Providing in-person and virtual counselling sessions for clients in Alberta

Who I am

Hello, and welcome to A.S. Counselling! I’m Alexandra, a Canadian Certified Counsellor (#11252574) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. My office is located in Airdrie, AB for clients who are looking for in-person sessions. I also offer virtual sessions to individuals and couples across Alberta.

As a teacher turned counsellor, I have always been someone who is passionate about supporting others through life’s challenges and developing strong connections to promote growth and healing. My practice is focused on being in the moment with you and walking alongside you, as you dig deep to explore, heal, and grow. I aim to build a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients by showing up authentically and fostering mutual respect and trust.

My counselling approach is Person-Centered with aspects of Cognitve Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) woven in. I may be a good fit for you if you’re looking for a counsellor who is down-to-earth, genuine, emotionally present, and doesn’t take themself too seriously. For me, connection, authenticity, and feeling relaxed during sessions helps to best support clients.

Who I Help

A wall covered with green foliage and plants, with neon pink lettering that spells out a word, partially visible.

Through in-person or virtual sessions, I offer a supportive space to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and create change that is meaningful to you.

I work with:

  • Children & Teens — supporting emotional, social, and behavioural challenges, anxiety, self-esteem, and life transitions.

  • Individuals — helping you navigate life’s challenges, to feel more confident and to build self-understanding (and often self-acceptance).

  • Couples — working through communication challenges, conflict, disconnection, and relationship difficulties.

I focus on the following areas:

  • ADHD — developing practical strategies for organization, emotional regulation, overwhelm, relationships, and self-acceptance.

  • Anxiety & Depression — determining tools that will help you manage worry, low mood, overwhelm, and difficult emotions.

  • Relationship Challenges (individually or as a couple) — exploring communication patterns, conflict, attachment, trust, and connection.

  • Boundary Setting — learning to communicate your needs, say no without guilt, and build healthier relationships.

  • Life Transitions & Personal Growth — finding your footing during periods of change, uncertainty, or feeling stuck.

If you’re struggling with something specific, or just hope to better understand yourself, I’m here to support you in that journey. Therapy with me can provide a space to pause, reflect, and gain clarity to move forward with a greater sense of confidence.

Counselling Services

Couples Counselling

Fee: $175 per 80 minute session

Relationships are challenging. Whether you're navigating conflict, feeling distant, or just wanting to strengthen your connection, couples counselling is a space to slow down, re-connect, and do the work together. I aim to offer a space for both of you to feel respected and supported as we work together.

In couples sessions, we’ll focus on building understanding, trust, and communication. I often highlight the use of The Gottman Method, a research-based approach, which helps to improve connection and mutual understanding.

Individual Counselling

Fee: $125 per 50 minute session

Life can be a lot sometimes. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or just unsure of where to go next, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

In our one-on-one sessions, we’ll take the time to explore whatever’s showing up for you. My aim is to create a space for you to be real, feel your feelings, and to support you in making sense of it all.

Connection Call

Complimentary 15-minute consultation

Starting therapy is a big step and it’s important that your counsellor feel like the right fit for you! This is why I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call or virtual chat. It gives us a chance to connect, with no pressure and no commitment. You can ask questions, share a bit about what’s bringing you to therapy, and get a feel for who I am.

I’ll share a bit about my approach, what working together might look like, and we’ll go from there. If it feels like a good match, we can determine next steps and get you booked in for an official intake session, and if not, that’s okay too!
